Jewelry Fabrication Saturday Workshop

Beginner Level/No experience required, age 16+

 Please note: This class involves working with torches and tiny metal components. Good fine motor skills and the ability to see small details are essential for this class.This is a fast paced action packed workshop! If you are unsure of your abilities, check out the Stacking Rings Workshop first.

During this introduction to the art of handmade jewelry, you will learn to make jewelry while developing basic skills essential for building a strong foundation. Specific projects are demonstrated and you are allowed to work at your own pace while receiving individualized instruction in a small group setting.
Studio safety is taught as well as proper use of jewelry tools and soldering torches.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR CANCELLATIONS PRIOR TO CLASS UNLESS THE SPOT CAN BE FILLED FROM THE WAITLIST. YOU WILL BE ISSUED A CREDIT FOR A FUTURE CLASS.  

Materials:  Sterling silver is provided which is enough to make the projects below. Gemstones are available for purchase. (Gem prices start at $5.  Additional silver is available for purchase if time allows for more projects.)

Projects:   Stacking rings, a pendant or ring with a cabochon gemstone.  More projects can be explored as time allows.

Skills taught: Sawing, piercing, filing, measuring, sizing, texturing, forming, soldering, polishing, and basic stone setting of a cabochon
