Jewelry Fabrication - 6 week session
Experience: None Required. Beginner-Advanced
Age 16+

Meets once a week for 3 hours per day
Date/Time: Thursdays January 9, 16, 23, 30, Feb 13, 20 12:00-3:00pm
Beginners: During this introduction to the art of handmade jewelry, you will learn to make jewelry while developing basic skills essential for building a strong foundation. Specific projects are demonstrated and you are allowed to work at your own pace while receiving individualized instruction in a small group setting.
Studio safety is taught as well as proper use of jewelry tools and soldering torches. Skills taught: Cutting, sawing, filing, forging, forming, texturing, soldering, basic stone setting, finishing, and polishing.
Intermediate/Advanced: Specific projects and skills are taught each session or students can choose their own projects in silver or gold. Receive individualized instruction as you learn at your pace in a small group setting. Skills taught: Jewelry I skills plus explore more complex designs, complicated soldering, fusing, granulation, chain making, and bezel setting faceted gemstones.
Required for class: You will receive instructions upon registration regarding how to purchase silver and supplies for this class. (Estimated cost $75)
